Cafe Besalu.
(206) 789-1463
www.cafebesalu.com
5909 24th Ave NW Seattle, WA 98107
With a French name and 217 reviews, I had to check these guys out. Baked good include croissants, quiches, and all things French, and the Sunday morning ham & Swiss has to be good. 'Best pastries in Seattle period' read one review. And the neigborhood raves about breakfasts too. Who could ask for more? Esppresso and coffee you bet.. but be vigilant on weekends.. this place packs out.

Java Jahn.
(206789-9441
www.javajahn.com
1428 NW Leary Way, Seattle, WA 98107
Super-small little cafe but cute and they host a great selection of pastires... and good coffee. My pal Jay D. (a photographer in Ballard) always takes me here and rightfully so. JavaJahn knocks out a great cup of espresso! Small loft nest is above the espresso bar and makes you feel like a cat looking down at patron activity... all good. Oh yeah, they make great sandwiches and waffles. WIFi available!

Serendipity Cafe & Lounge.
(206) 282-9866
3222 West McGraw Street
Coined as the heartbeat of Magnolia, The Serendipity Cafe & Lounge brings Caffe Vida coffee and espresso, baked goods, and more into this quiet northwest Seattle neigborhood. Fun 'center of town' feeling too. Solid food menu and a kind of place anyone can organize a meeting and find the place. Nice. Bar too.. ok then...
